blk cherry is the creative studio of Beth, launched in 2020.

Thanks for being here. I’m Beth, I was born in 1995. I taught myself how to make websites in 2020.

I design (and build) websites for broadcasters, writers, artists, creators and BPOC-led organisations.

I create sites that are optimised, accessible, look lovely, feel personal, and don’t look shit on mobile.

I especially love working with women-led brands, grassroots organisations, community-interest companies, charities, creatives, and anyone with something meaningful to say.

fancy a  nice website?

Loves

Bold colours. Amy Winehouse. Sexy fonts. Blank space. Miles Aldridge. Good manners. Warm people. Sunflowers. Yorkshire biscuit tea. Old films. My Polaroid. Espresso martinis. Podcasts. UK garage. Nina Simone. Desperate Housewives. Making collages. A good book. Shambala Festival. Handwritten lists. Sunset lamps. Cold sunny days. Meditation. Pubs. Lemon water. Red nails.

Doesn’t love so much

Websites badly designed on mobile. People who don’t eat vegetables. Misogynists. US versions of British telly shows. Being a slave to your phone. Getting a bad back before you’re 30. Meetings that could’ve been an email. How fast time goes. People who propose to their significant others and post it on LinkedIn, framing it as a ‘sales deal’.
